Love Thy Father With All Thy Heart

My father immigrated to the United States from an island off the coast of Honduras at 18, a period in his life marked by his migration and the loss of his mother. This loss and the difficulties of assimilating, profoundly shaped his life. He has spent his adulthood balancing a dual identity–navigating the blend of his Islander roots while becoming American. Our relationship is an intricate one, but as I've matured, I've gained a deeper understanding of his journey and the struggles endured. Love Thy Father with All Thy Heart is an ongoing project that examines the complicated relationship shared between my father and I. Through these images, I aim to offer a glimpse into our shared world, intertwined by his past and my present, capturing the complexities of our bond forged over time.
